Good for cough, excellent as laxative
Have you noticed how almost always another medication is required to fix the side effects of the medication? First you take something for a condition. Then, because the something you first took created you a new condition, you take something else too. A headache pill may cause a headache the next day. The vaccination to help your kid not to die from swine flu causes her a permanent neural damage. Those hormones you take for-what-ever-reason elevate your blood pressure, at least. Not to forget the cough medicine, which works also as a very very (very) effective laxative. If the warning text...
Success, gaga and big shoes
I've been thinking about Lady Gaga lately. She pops up and out everywhere I look. For instance Mayi Carles from Heartmade talked about Lady Gaga. First of all, Mayi herself is quite a character. And she's proud to be a character. Second of all the thing about Lady Gaga is... Well, she's brilliant. The brand is full of win. It smells of success. The reason why I've been thinking about all this is I'm a modest person. Way too modest. Annoyingly modest. Stupidly modest. Got the point? I cannot do that. I'm not capable of being a ladygaga or even a mayicarles. That's what's wrong with me. I'...
Get social, be personal
In order to get truly in with social media, there's at least one thing you must remember: Be personal. Getting to know with your target group members is the first thing. Next you'll gotta get yourself "dirty" too. You will have to get personal, let us know who you are. Instead of hiding behind a company name and logo, being faceless and emotionless entity, you need to tell us something about who is the person behind the tweets, the status updates, the video uploads and the blog posts. People are what brings us together online. The individuals and the communities. Funny thing is, when you...
Social media is communication
Are you still asking if social media is good for your business, your brand or yourself? Lets put it this way: You could as well ask if communication is good for your business, your brand or yourself. Social media, in a simple definition, is communication.
Sand animation by Kseniya Simonova
Ever heard about sand animation? There seems to be two types of sand animation. I'm at the moment especially interested about the performance art. In this type the artist is creating series of images with sand, right in front of the viewers eyes. I knew nothing about this form of art. Not until I saw Kseniya Simonova rendering some amazing stuff on the background of Ukrainian entry for Eurovision Song Contest 2011. The video embedded here is her dedication for Chernobyl disaster back in 1986. (The actual animation starts about two minutes in, after Ms. Simonova's speech.)
Music, sleep and volume
Have you ever fell asleep while listening music? You put the earphones on, lay down and close your eyes. Before you notice you are dreaming, the music still playing. Have you noticed if the music leaking into your dream is strangely loud? As if your resting brain has turned the volume up, even if it was quite low earlier. Music can have a relaxing effect. If I'm right kind of tired and block all the other noise (as well as the silence) with music I may all of a sudden find myself in a middle of a dream. Dream with a musical background. Like I did earlier today. This time I happened to notice...
Inspiration
Inspirational may be overused word, but here's a thing you should remember: Different things do inspire different people. Some of us are inspired by ugliness, some beauty, some by their kids, some by their pets. You can never tell really what inspires the person next to you. If I don't like children and can't find anything inspiring about them, that other one may be inspired by the cuteness she sees in them or by the things they say and do. Basically inspiration leads to a creation of something. Something triggers the mind on imagining something new or at least "new" and usually somehow impl...
