Unsocial media
If you know me at all, you should know by now I'm very much into all sorts of communicating and socializing online. You know, like social media and stuffs. However I'm not all happy about it all. First of all you cannot see the initial reactions of the other person. Say I contact another person on Facebook. I can obviously see their written response or if they liked something. But I cannot see, hear and feel how they really reacted on emotional level. The other problem is that most of the time it all feels like shouting to the void. Sometimes I find out way afterwards how someone...
Service, Customer Service
Customer service is amongst the foremost marketing efforts. At least it should be. Unfortunately in many cases customer service is treated as the necessary bad. Something that must exist, but no-one really wants. I've worked in a couple customer service positions and noticed following: Often customer service personnel is hidden away from the other departments. Thus the customer service personnel don't have much or any contact with the other functions or employees of the organization. Customer service personnel tend to be urged to get rid of the customers fast and keep the queue sho...
Atonement (2007)
PLEASE NOTE: The following includes spoilers about the movie. First of all Atonement (2007) sounds pretty blah. And if you see the poster/dvd-cover it most likely won't change that idea. However we've been totally jamesmcavoyed. That's for sure. And after seeing quite awesome Hanna (2011) we got the idea we should see other stuff directed by Joe Wright. So we watched the movie, as dull as we thought it might be. Like Hanna, it's beautiful from the start. Beautiful settings, beautiful angles, beautiful long shots. Beautiful sounds and music. Besides being pretty Atonement is...
Platform of creativity
Internet means a platform of creativity for me. It does mean other stuff too, like source of information and a way of connecting with people everywhere. But what mainly interests me personally about the net is how easy it is to create and share the creations on it. I started to make websites pretty early on as I got to use net (and web obviously). This happened in high school late 90's, since Internet wasn't very common thing in Finnish countryside back then. I loved the fact I could create something and share it instantly with the whole world. Besides of creating a website I was able to als...
X-Men: First Class (2011)
I've seen the previous X-Men movies. The not-so-bad, the rather-watch-than-to-be-punched, the awful and the shameful one. When Toni introduced the idea of going to see X-Men: First Class (2011) I wasn't too thrilled. \ I didn't exactly hate the idea. Matthew Vaughn directing sounded good after Kick-Ass (2010) and Layer Cake (2004). Michael Fassbender I remembered from Inglourious Basterds (2009). And James McAvoy I'd seen and liked on something. Therefore I thought it wouldn't hurt. I loved it. Throughout the beginning I was still unsure, but at some point I noticed I'd b...
Six reasons NOT to get in with social media
No interest in social media, web in general or people using them. A serious lack of imagination. Heavy or complete inability in social interaction. Fat skeletons in the closet. NOTE: The skeletons tend to gain ability to walk and talk eventually whether you did something about them or not. Stuck the past and no intention to let it go. Strong believe in benefits of hiding your head in the sand. (Not even ostriches do that for real.)
