The rude sound of silence

In time to time it happens: A potential client asks for a quote and I give it. And then nothing. After a week or two I'm very much aware the price was too high and I got silence treatment. Of course it's a missed opportunity, not just for me but for client as well. No negotiations. No new offer. Nothing gets done. It's a really rude thing to do. Saying "this is too much for me" wouldn't be rude at all. Or maybe asking for a new price, better suited for your budget. The silent treatment kind of leaves me hanging and results to really unnecessary awkwardness. Actually if the budget is real...

Things blogging has taught me

Blogging as well as tweeting can be used for many things. Spreading the word of something, branding, ego tripping, being a jerk towards others and so forth. At the same time it's of course also a learning experience for the blogger (or tweeter) herself. And it can be pretty interesting. So I started to think what blogging has taught me. There are several things, and the following represents just a few of them. However these right now feel like the most important lessons blogging and tweeting has given me. Nevermind the spills Typos and little mistakes happen. As long as it's not hurtin...

Everyone talks about Pinterest. So much it took me a while to decide if I'd like to write about it myself. And I know there are people who are so incredibly annoyed by all the fuzz. Oh no logo

I needed a new bag. Something big and sturdy enough to fit my Macbook and other stuff I want to carry around. A bag which doesn't look like it was made for the granny who wants to pretend to be rich. Price around 50 euros. To my surprise everything matching the requirements was decorated with huge logos. Sports brand logos mostly. Adidas, Puma, Nike, Björn (We Are The) Borg and so forth. I ended up with one saying Adidas, only because it happened to fit my needs. It came with a nice color and a strap which shouldn't dig deep into my shoulder. Spacious and nifty pockets inside. And the logo...

Why Drupal?

My choice of CMS is Drupal. It's an open source platform built for all sorts of sites from simpler personal blogs to more complexed sites. Because I know people seem to think other CMS' are better, I decided to list some reasons why I think Drupal is the best around. A couple of years ago I tried a bunch of different platforms in order to find the best one for my needs. Before this I had mostly been building websites and some simple database or text file based content managements from scratch. Joomla seemed promising, but at the time it wasn't flexible enough and for some reason I found...
