Repeat, repeat, repeat
Isn't it irritating, when someone posts the same link to the same article over and over again to Facebook, Twitter, Google+ or elsewhere? Don't they have anything else to say, but to repeatedly push that one thing over and over again? Irritating or not, there's a very understandable reason for it. With my recent rebranding I had to create a new page on Facebook. This is because Facebook limits certain changes to pages and I couldn't just switch the old page to correlate with the new thing that's going on. I had to ask those who have liked my previous page to firstly like my new page and...
Defining creativity
Creativity has many meanings, depending on who you ask. In the more strict definition creativity is forming something new or original, which has value. That something can be abstract, as an idea, or a physical object, such as a book. Wider definitions include using imagination for creating, or transforming traditional ideas and creations to unconventional ideas and creations. In Finnish the word for creativity is luovuus, which in its spirit is rather poetic. Though these two words basically mean the same, and even have the same biblical linkage, they have a slight tonal difference. Whil...
Statistically obsessed
Measure, analyze, check your stats, take a look at the insights. Whether you are running a business website, a personal blog, a Twitter account or a Facebook page, there is someone breathing down your neck asking about the numbers. How's the traffic? Is there enough engagement? Are you sharing and getting your content shared enough? Different analytics services are going hot collecting data for you, and most of all, for advertisers. Everyone is hot and bothered about the statistics. Even your readers are judging your blog by how many comments and how many shares your posts are getting. The wor...
Take the credit
Recently I shared an article over at my Facebook page. It was about boosting your career with bragging. In the article it was pointed out that men have a tendency of taking credit for successes, whereas women say it was luck, help from friends or something like that. Women downplay the success more easily. I do too, I know that. There's a reason to it, besides being raised by the rules of how women and men are supposed to be. Testosterone makes a person more confident, and men have seven to eight times more of it than women. It makes sense they believe in themselves and their abilities. It...
Cure your writer's block with freestyle, non-judgemental writing
Since being a kid, and beginning to write diaries and my own little stories, I've had this same problem. I start to obsess over "what will others think about this" and then I get stuck with the writing. Yes, even with my diaries I have always used to worry about someone someday reading what I wrote and judge me for it. I have trust issues, obviously, but also I have performance anxiety. I get afraid that my writing isn't good enough. That contributes to my episodes of a terrible writer's block. When you have a writer's block, what is the main reason for it? Is it that you don't have anything...

Every blogger has given this advice, myself included. However somehow your blog is still not really gaining new readers, comments, shares or getting more...
What is... Referrer spam
Have you noticed odd sites appearing in the Referral Traffic section of your site analytics? These referrals are usually something like best-seo-offer.com, buttons-for-your-site.com, ilovevitaly.com or theguardlan.com. If you happen to visit the referring urls, they often redirect you to other suspicious sites. Where ever the link sends you, there's usually no link to your site to be seen. These referrals are actually so called referrer spam. Referrer spam is on a notable rise and you can see new sites bombing your analytics all the time. Referrals are the kind of traffic that comes to your...
